Making Science Understandable
Science impacts all of us
From COVID-19, measles, and climate change to rising rates of vaccine-preventable illnesses, we are seeing firsthand how much science impacts everyday life and the decisions people make. However, scientists do not always have the time or skills to make our work and its impact understandable to the public, and that ends up being a detriment to society. Science impacts all of us in very tangible ways.
My work seeks to help in three ways:
Make science information understandable to the public through social media and writing.
Provide science education and outreach opportunities.
Help other scientists see the value of science communication and public outreach.
